![]() David Gangloff, Project Architect for Baum | Thornley Architects LLP (Design Development Phase) SAN FRANCISCO This 200' tall tower is to be located in a rapidly growing residential district adjacent to the Bay Bridge known as Rincon Hill. The project design successfully resolves the complexities of a poured-in-place concrete high-rise structure located on a tight urban sight, and provides all of the required amenities. It will contain 51 loft-style units, most of them being two-story apartments with double-height living/dining rooms and airy terraces. The design is intended to maximize views, accommodate an economical concrete structure, and to dramatize the vertical form of the building. By cleverly contrasting concrete shear walls (with punched windows) and glazed curtain walls. The building's slenderness is emphasized, gracefully turning the building silhouette into a dramatic piece of urban sculpture. The top four "penthouse" levels comprise full-floor units with 360 degree views and extensive terraces.
