WVG Apartments West

GRAPEVINE, TEXAS

DGA was asked to design a high density apartment community as part of the master-planned World Villages at Grapevine complex. The developer requested a Mediterranean style design, resembling townhouses. The challenge was to break up the mass of the long elevations and tall facades using differing materials and setbacks. Apartments are arranged around small courtyards in buildings that form larger courtyards for common amenities. Circulation through the buildings happens around the small courtyards, eliminating long, dark interior hallways. Parking and utility spaces occur below grade, out of view. The design incorporates many green building features to make the buildings energy efficient and durable.
