SAN FRANCISCO - 1999

This is a fast paced project intended to replace aged modular classrooms and expand capacity at a cramped existing, urban elementary school site in San Francisco. Occupancy was scheduled one year from start of drawings. The new buildings create a new quadrangle that reinforces the cohesiveness of the school community. The new buildings include nine classrooms, a library, offices, elevator and restrooms. The design process has included close collaboration with neighborhood, district, school, and parent representatives, to achieve a quiet fit into this mostly residential neighborhood.
