![]() David Gangloff, Project Architect for Baum | Thornley Architects LLP (All Design Phases) SEBASTOPOL Dressed in a Sonoma County vernacular, and reflecting the agrarian nature of the neighborhood, this building is said to have the grace and style of the larger estate wineries without the pretension. Visitors have the opportunity to experience, enjoy and learn about wine in a variety of indoor and outdoor rooms. A trellised tower with a tile mosaic depiction of the vineyard, designed by David Gangloff, announces the entry. Once inside, visitors are greeted by informational displays and a refrigerated glass room displaying the wine library. The sequence continues into the tasting room with its high ceiling, exposed trusses, cedar paneling and serpentine shaped bar. Large glass door panels open the tasting room up to the private tasting room, outdoor tasting room and courtyard. The ‘L’ shaped plan orients the building for sweeping vineyard, river and mountain views from the tasting rooms, verandas, courtyard and formal gardens. The second floor contains the winery administrative offices. A full commercial kitchen is available for large viticultural events.
