The house is nestled into a hillside and stretches along the contours to give each room views of the vineyard and mountains beyond. After arriving in the auto-court, a trellised walkway leads guests toward what appears to be two one-story cabins connected by a solarium. Each ‘cabin’ is a private suite with it’s own porch and entry, but the trellis leads to the shared entry hall with stairs down to the common, semi-private living areas. Both suites have a bedroom, sitting room (convertible to a bedroom), a private deck and one or two luxury bathrooms. Downstairs a living room, dining room and chef quality kitchen open onto patios that overlook rows of vines covering the rolling hills of the ranch. The character of the house was inspired from the local vernacular stock. Gabled roofs, porches and trellises overhang rough-sawn board & batten cedar siding and rustic stone base. Wood and stone from the exterior spills into the interior and is complemented by bamboo wood floors, exposed beams, cathedral ceilings and a dramatic Rumford fireplace.
